Security
Before visitors can enter the Hollywood Bowl, they must pass through metal detectors. On busy days, passing through the metal detectors can take between 20 to 30 minutes.
The metal detectors are located at all the entrance points to the Hollywood Bowl. The process of passing through them is like what you will find at most major arenas and stadiums. Before passing through the metal detectors, you must remove the following items:
» All large metal items
» Bags
» Hats
» Portable electronics
There are a few items that you can keep on you when going through the metal detectors, so don’t worry about having these items in your pockets or on your person when you arrive.
» Coins
» Keys
» Wallets
» Belts
If you think that you have seen something suspicious during your time at Hollywood Bowl, you can discreetly report the incident on your cell phone. You can do this by texting ‘BOWL’ to 69050.

While bringing food into the arena is allowed, beverages are only permitted during certain events.
Food
Food is welcome at the Hollywood Bowl, which uniquely supports picnicking due to its outdoor setting. However, there are regulations surrounding food brought into the venue.
These regulations are like the bag policies, as any picnic baskets, containers, or coolers brought into the venue must abide by the bag size policies mentioned above.
As a courtesy to other guests, staff, and performers, avoid bringing foods that could cause disturbances, such as strong-smelling cheeses or fish.
Drink
For non-alcoholic drinks, you can bring factory-sealed plastic bottles into the venue. These bottles must be one liter or less. You are not permitted to bring in aluminum cans or glass – including glasses for drinking – no matter what kind of liquid is inside.
Reusable liquid containers are permitted but must be empty upon entry. You can fill up a reusable container with water at one of the three water stations found in the venue.
When it comes to alcoholic beverages, drinks from outside are allowed in the Hollywood Bowl for LA Phil-presented events. For any Lease Events that are notated, ‘Special House Rules Apply’ – which can be found on the events pages or the calendar – alcoholic beverages from outside are not permitted.
