Los Angeles Philharmonic tickets

Tuesday, July 22, 2025 — attend one of the Hollywood Bowl’s most-anticipated classical nights, “Rhapsody in Blue & The New World,” with award-winning conductor Dalia Stasevska.

This summer, audiences may partake in an elegant, three-part program offering grand gestures to classical music through the works of Ginastera, Gershwin, and Dvořák. The evening begins with a romp, Alberto Ginastera’s Malambo, celebrating the folk dance of Argentine cowboys and their competitive traditions. Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin follows through with the thrumming echoes of the Jazz Age in 20th-century New York, concluding with a wondrous performance of Symphony No. 9, “From the New World,” a masterpiece of spirituals and Native American inspiration by Antonín Dvořák.

The GRAMMY-winning Los Angeles Philharmonic welcomes Japanese piano virtuoso Hayato Sumino on his debut with them, melding peerless innovation, dynamics, and spontaneity into the fabric of Dalia Stasevska’s experience, awarded by the Royal Philharmonic Society itself. Rhapsody in Blue & The New World

Classical Tuesdays present a wonderfully magical evening of the orchestra: “Rhapsody in Blue & The New World” with Dalia Stasevska. On the 22nd day of July 2025, visitors at the Hollywood Bowl will bear witness to a three-part musical program of divine inspiration, coming together through a collaboration between our honored maestra, piano virtuoso Hayato Sumino, and the house’s very own Los Angeles Philharmonic.

PROGRAM

Ginastera - Malambo
Gershwin - Rhapsody in Blue
INTERMISSIONDvořák - Symphony No. 9, “From the New World”

The first order of the night, as conducted by the esteemed Dalia Stasevska, revives the spirit of Argentine folk dance. The Malambo by Alberto Ginastera follows a syncopated rhythm that brings to mind vivid pictures of cowboys and competition in Latin American frontiers. Next is a landmark, the ever-prolific Rhapsody in Blue, created by George Gershwin for “King of Jazz” Paul Whiteman in 1924. It depicts a snapshot of early 20th-century New York City, capturing the Jazz Age zeitgeist in its cross-cultural composition. Finally, we arrive at Antonín Dvořák’s opus, Symphony No. 9, “From the New World.” This historically famous work is the culmination of the Czech native’s time in the States, exploring and incorporating indigenous melodies and African-American spirituals into the classical repertoire.

Dalia Stasevska leads the program, propelled by a force of charisma, passion, and versatility. Recipient of the Royal Philharmonic Society’s prestigious Conductor Award, she serves as the chief conductor of the Lahti Symphony Orchestra, with a recently extended stint as the principal guest conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

Hayato Sumino accompanies her on his much-awaited debut with the GRAMMY Award-winning Los Angeles Philharmonic. After a viral Rhapsody performance at the Royal Albert Hall last year, the young pianist offers us breathtaking spontaneity and the inventive dynamism that earned him a spot on Forbes Japan’s “30 under 30” list. The LA Phil continues to champion diversity, excellence, and innovation as they perform their final season under Music & Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel, still enjoying a long-lived reputation as one of the world’s outstanding orchestras.

Reservations are now open. Book your seats for “Rhapsody in Blue & The New World" with Dalia Stasevska, Hayato Sumino, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Experience historic music beneath the glow of South Florida’s foremost concert destination, the Hollywood Bowl, inspiring speechless awe with its sights, sounds, and atmosphere.
