Toto
American rock group Toto was founded in Los Angeles, California, in 1977. Toto, made up completely of seasoned studio musicians, appeared out of nowhere. Unlike most bands, they did not gain recognition on the club scene before being signed by a label. Their studio reputations were sufficient. For instance, Paich, Hungate, and Jeff Porcaro composed music for and appeared on the Silk Degrees album by Boz Scaggs.
Pop, rock, soul, funk, progressive rock, hard rock, R&B, blues, and jazz are all combined in Toto's music. The band has sold over 40 million records worldwide and published 14 studio albums. In addition, they have won multiple Grammy Awards and were inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2009.

Christopher Cross is a San Antonio, Texas-based American singer-songwriter and guitarist who was born Christopher Charles Geppert on May 3, 1951. With the 1979 release of his self-titled debut album, he was awarded five Grammy Awards. The singles "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)" from the 1981 movie Arthur and "Sailing" (1980) both reached the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.[2][3][4] "Sailing" received three Grammys in 1980,[5] and "Arthur's Theme" (co-composed by Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager, and Peter Allen) took home the 1980 Oscar for Best Original Song.
The album Christopher Cross, which bears Cross's name, was released on December 20, 1979. Top 20 hits from the album according to the Billboard Hot 100 were "Ride Like the Wind" (with Michael McDonald providing backing vocals), "Sailing", "Never Be the Same", and "Say You'll Be Mine" (with Nicolette Larson providing backing vocals). In the US, "Ride Like the Wind" peaked at number two. Hot 100, while "Sailing" peaked at the top for a single week. Meanwhile, "Never Be The Same" topped the Adult Contemporary chart. Cross was the first artist in Grammy history to win all four general field honors in a single event, taking home Song of the Year ("Sailing"), Album of the Year (Christopher Cross), Record of the Year ("Sailing"), and Best New Artist. This achievement was not repeated for 39 years until Billie Eilish won all four awards at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards in 2020. "Sailing" also won for Best Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s). After selling more than 5 million copies, Christopher Cross has received five platinum certifications in the United States.
